LSU was crowned national champion after Olivia Dunne and her teammates won a thrilling final in Texas on Saturday.

This win marks LSU gymnastics’ first-ever national championship win and the 52nd win in the history of LSU athletics, and it ends a storied career for Olivia Dunne should she decide not to come back for a fifth year.

Two of LSU’s athletes won first place in respective events: senior Haleigh Bryant tied California’s eMjae Frazier for first place in the all-around with a score of 39.7125, while freshman Konnor McClain won first place on beam with a score of 9.9625.

Although Olivia Dunne, a senior at LSU, did not compete in the NCAA final, she was a vital part of the Tigers’ successful season.

After the contest, she could be seen posing with the National Championship trophy, but there seemed to have been a problem with her photo.

Social media saw the bottom part of her thigh and assumed she suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction and did not catch it before posting to her fans:

As a student-athlete, Olivia Dunne has netted an NIL valuation of $3.7 million, according to On3 Sports, along with more than 13 million followers on social media.

Olivia Dunne and her LSU Tigers gymnastics team secured their first-ever national championship. Dunne, in her fourth year on the team, actually has the opportunity to come back for another year.

Dunne is considering returning to LSU for a fifth year, which she’s eligible for due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dunne said that she is currently living in the moment and soaking up the championship win, and stopped short of confirming her return for an additional season, during an interview with TODAY.
