Fans aren’t the only ones who think Tony Romo nearly used the N-Word during a broadcast of the AFC Championship Game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs.

FS1’s Undisputed co-host Shannon Sharpe appears to believe it too.

Romo was seemingly hyped by a big catch by the Chiefs’ Isiah Pachecho during Sunday’s game and nearly let something very regrettable slip. Pachecho had made a reception off a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and then evaded three defenders to give the Chiefs some extra yardage and a first down in opposition territory nearing the end of the fourth quarter.

While the Chiefs didn’t score on that particular drive, they would force the Bengals to punt and ended up gaining good field position, which ultimately helped them win the game.

Romo was a bit too excited after seeing the play and fans believe he nearly used the aforementioned racial slur in his description of the action. You could check it out in the video below and decide for yourself.

Asked for his thoughts on the near slip by a fan on Twitter, Sharpe said the following:
“It’s [live TV]. You get hyped and forget sometimes where you are.”
Another Twitter user suggested that Romo uses the term in private.

“What do you want me to do about how some1 talks when ppl aren’t around?” Sharpe asked. “What’s my role?”
