Jamie Lee Curtis called for an end to the ‘bull**** conspiracy theories’ about Catherine, Princess of Wales just hours before her shocking cancer diagnosis was revealed.

Shortly before Kate Middleton made the announcement, the actress, 65, took to Instagram to ask people to stop making theories about her and her whereabouts.

After the 42-year-old royal revealed on Friday that she has been absent from public duties because she is battling the disease, the Freaky Friday star then sent her ‘best wishes to her and her family.

In her initial post, Curtis wrote: ‘Can we please just STOP with this bull**** conspiracy theory? This is a human being with young children, and clearly some sort of a health issue. That is a private matter.’

As stars in Hollywood call for apologies to the princess, she added: ‘Do we not have better things to do and more important things to think about and be concerned about than this? It’s a really low point in our society when there are SO MANY crucial issues that need our attention.’

After Curtis shared her post, the princess opened up about her diagnosis during a televised address on Friday evening. In a video, she thanked people for ‘all the wonderful messages of support’ and explained that she was diagnosed with cancer after undergoing abdominal surgery in January

Later, she continued in a follow-up comment as ‘now Princess Kate has told us about her health’.

‘Now we should send nothing but our best wishes to her and her family and focus on our own lives and the lives of people directly related to us,’ she wrote. ‘And the myriad life-threatening issues to our children that we can focus on.’

The princess had shared her diagnosis during a televised address on Friday evening.

In a video, she thanked people for ‘all the wonderful messages of support’ and explained that she was diagnosed with cancer after undergoing abdominal surgery in January.

Since then, she said she has been recovering from the surgery as well as undergoing ‘preventative’ chemotherapy.

‘I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you personally for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I’ve been recovering from surgery,’ the princess said.

‘It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family,’ she continued. ‘But I’ve had a fantastic medical team who’ve taken great care of me — for which, I’m so grateful.

‘In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London,’ she added. ‘And at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous.’

‘The surgery was successful,’ she explained. ‘However, tests after the operation on cancer had been present.

‘This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.’

On the topic of their three children, the future queen said: ‘It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.’

The princess is now on what has been described as a ‘recovery pathway’ having commenced a course of chemotherapy in late February.
