Warriors Star Draymond Green might not be the best player to play against in the NBA but he is a good teammate to play alongside with. Recently he expressed his opinions on the performance of his longtime teammate Klay Thompson.

Thompson’s season has been a mixed bag so far, he was in a slump at the start of the season. However, ever since the All-Star break ended he has been gaining his prime form back slowly and steadily, restoring his lost honor.

Draymond Greem expresses thoughts on Klay Thompson

Draymond Green has expressed his thoughts on the improved performance of his teammate, Klay Thompson. Green did so in a post-game conference. He was asked about his thoughts on the stunning performances Klay has been putting on lately impressing the fans and giving them hope for the future.

“I think earlier, He (Klay Thompson) was too much worried about people judging him. And now he doesn’t care… I think it goes to shows incredible maturity,” said Green in the post-game interview. He highlighted that Klay Thompson has matured as a player and now handles criticism fairly well. He also mentioned that Klay used to think a lot about people judging him and that might have been the cause of his slump. However, ever since then, he has come forward a long way and has matured to not care about the judgment of others.

Thompson’s performance in the 2023-24 season

Klay Thompson this season has not been the same dominant force he was in the previous seasons. He had a very poor start to the season unable to make baskets, create plays, and even defend in the league. Eventually head coach of the Dubs Steve Kerr decided to put him on a bench role and play him as a rotation player.

At first, Thompson looked seemingly upset to lose his starting position, however, ever since the All-Star break ended he changed. He excelled at his new position becoming the point of difference in many games coming off the bench and closing leads for his teams. His three-point shooting skills have also returned. He is currently averaging 17.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists this season. Klay’s stat line was worse at the start of the season but has improved drastically since he got in form. His recent performances have given hope to the Dubs Nation of a possible great Playoff run.
