A set of dishes once used only once by Queen Elizabeth II could be worth more than $500,000 in an upcoming auction in Paris.
Queen Elizabeth II is a special monarch in history, ruling the largest territory in the world and an iconic figure of England. Among them, there are records that have existed for more than 3 centuries, and were only broken during her time.
Buckingham Palace announced that she passed away peacefully on the afternoon of September 8 (local time) at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, where she spent most of the summer. It is known that after the Queen’s death, Prince Charles succeeded the throne and became King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

Now, however, the things she touches can be sold for millions of dollars. It is known that a rare set of dessert dishes once used by the British King could fetch more than 500,000 USD in an auction.
This set of dishes was originally commissioned by King Louis-Philippe I of France and made by Sèvres, the official royal plate maker in 1842. Later, Queen Elizabeth II used these plates only once in 1967 at Chateau de Sassy in Normandy during a three-day private tour of the department’s stud farms.

The Guardian shared information about the handwritten menu for the royal visit, stating that the Queen was served fruit pastries for dinner and mille-feuille omelets for lunch right on this set of dishes.
Auctioneer Florence Baron-Reverdito said she discovered the value of objects used by Queen Elizabeth II after being asked to price specific objects at the castle.
“We had a visit at the castle. After going from room to room, a member of the delegation opened the cabinet containing the Queen’s used objects. Then something surprised me. However, their value is through patterns and motifs, especially all of them are plated with pure gold.” Baron-Reverdito said.

This scientist revealed that there are a total of 75 objects and 23 other works of the same shape and size, designed according to brocade patterns from the time of the Kings in the Royal Palace with embossed motifs on the enamel background created by artisans. Hand-painted ceramics are extremely meticulous and delicate. In addition, gold-touched details also bring a noble look to the user.
“You can see the quality of the gold, the agate-colored background and the drawings of animals from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas,” ceramics expert Manuela Finaz de Villaine told The Guardian .
“They’re all different. It’s really a historical collection that documents the knowledge that scientists had at the time animals lived on these continents.”
It is known that before the auction begins on March 28, these works will be displayed for everyone to admire from March 25 to March 27 at Drouot in Paris.
