Angel Reese and the LSU Tigers won the NCAA championship in 2022
FORMER LSU star Angel Reese had a strong prediction for herself and the rest of the players that headline the 2024 WNBA Draft.
The 21-year-old didn’t stop there during an interview as she also revealed a massive statement regarding women as a whole in the sport of basketball.

Reese and superstar Caitlin Clark helped garner plenty of attention to the women’s NCAA basketball tournament this year.
Both faced off in the tournament final last year as Reese and the Tigers defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes.
A rematch occurred in the Elite Eight as a record 12.3 million viewers tuned in to see Iowa win the contest.
The title game between Iowa and South Carolina averaged 18.7 million viewers compared to the men’s championship 14.8 million viewers.
Reese has noticed that she and the rest of the soon-to-be WNBA players have popularized women’s basketball.
“Being able to raise women’s sports is amazing,” Reese said while working a predraft “shift” at Raising Canes in Manhattan this week, per The Post.
“It’s crazy how the game is going right now and being able to surpass the men.
“It’s exciting and I think our games are so much more interesting right now and so many people are tuning in and watching us.
“Being able to be a part of this, I want to be a great player but I always want to leave my impact, and I think I’ve done that.”
Last week, Reese announced through Vogue her decision to declare for next week’s WNBA Draft.
She’ll be joined by Clark, Stanford’s Cameron Brink, South Carolina’s Kamilla Cordoso, Connecticut’s Aaliyah Edwards, and other young stars to enter the WNBA.
The WNBA has had past viewership issues, but Reese believes that the league will only thrive from here on out.
“I know the game is about to go crazy. I know the viewership is going up and I’ve been seeing all the things on social media like how it would elevate that, even if it’s just the rookies, being able to give that publicity to the vets because they do deserve it,” Reese said.
Reese didn’t end there, saying that “women are leading the way” when it comes to the game of basketball.

“I want to be a great player and I want to leave my legacy within the league. And also just have that impact that I do have,” she said.
“I think so many different things are going to change within the league and it’s going to be able to go up more and more.
“Women are leading the way right now.”
The reigning SEC Player of the Year Reese averaged 18.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game throughout her four-year career.
She’s projected to be drafted between the No. 6 to No. 8 range.
