Manchester City has found itself in the spotlight for negative reasons. The Premier League giants find themselves under scrutiny as they face backlash over increasing their ticket prices. While it has left Cityzens in discontent, Pep Guardiola asserts that everyone will ‘forget‘ about the issue ahead of the Arsenal clash.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, the Spanish tactician was asked to comment on the ongoing protests from the fans. He said, “The people will forget at the start of the game and will support us unconditionally.” Such backlash from supporters suggested that City wouldn’t receive backing from their own faithful ahead of the crucial title clash.

However, Guardiola believes that fans will set aside their anger and instead cheer with full passion on Sunday as he aims to take all three points from the Gunners. Additionally, the former Barcelona coach then extended his support to the passionate fans.

While emphasizing the club’s commitment to the fans, he added, “We respect all opinions; it’s a sensitive issue. They’ll be with us and support us unconditionally. Absolutely [I understand the anger].” The 53-year-old is certain that fans will cut some slack to the Sky Blues, as he urges fans to not turn their backs on them.

“Now with the last games of the Premier League at home with our people, I’m pretty sure they will give us what we need to perform to our best. Right now, every game is so important,” concluded the ex-Bayern boss. Notably, the city justifies the increases as necessary due to inflation and operating costs. In fact, they aren’t alone in making this decision.
