Sports fans were treated to one of the most highly-anticipated games in women’s basketball history on Monday night when Angel Reese and the LSU Tigers took on Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in a rematch of last year’s NCAA Tournament Finals. And let’s just say that round two between these powerhouse programs did not disappoint.

The two biggest names in the women’s game went back-and-forth, as Clark and Reese exchanged blows all night during a thrilling contest. In the end, it was Clark’s 41 point performance that proved to be too much, as the Hawkeyes exacted revenge for last year’s loss with a 94-87 victory to book their spot in the Final Four.

As for Reese, she filled the stat sheet with 17 points, 20 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals, but it wasn’t enough. Iowa fans were clearly happy to serve Angel this massive “L” following her taunting during the final moments of last year’s final.

And, while Caitlin Clark kept it classy and chose to take the high road, movie star Jason Sudekis wasn’t going to allow this opportunity to slip away. Cameras caught the Ted Lasso star taunting Angel Reese from the stands while in attendance for the game.

Is This The End For Angel Reese At LSU?

As the final seconds ticked off the clock and Angel Reese watched from the bench after fouling out, everyone couldn’t help but wonder what’s next for the LSU star.

Reese has made a ton of money while playing college ball for the Tigers. She is among the biggest NIL earners in all college sports, male or female, according to On3. She is still just a junior, which means she’s still eligible to return to LSU for another season. Or, she could decide to make the jump to the WNBA, where she will undoubtedly be a lottery pick.

No word yet on which direction she’s leaning towards, but you can expect a decision from Angel Reese in the very near future.
