LSU head coach Kim Mulkey was put on blast by a former Tigers player following the program’s exit from the NCAA Tournament on Monday night.

Alexis Morris, who helped LSU win a National Championship last season, was not happy with the way her former team defended Iowa’s Caitlin Clark and took to social media to call out their tactics.

Clark, who became college basketball’s highest-ever scorer this season, erupted for 41 points, also hitting nine shots from long distance to set an NCAA Tournament record.

Mulkey has been on the receiving end of plenty of criticism due to her failure to adjust during the game, with Morris among her detractors.

“I’m gonna give y’all my unbiased opinion,” the former guard said in a live video on Instagram. “We should’ve made a defensive adjustment. Somebody else should’ve guarded Caitlin Clark!

Hailey Van Lith was handed the defensive assignment of keeping Clark under control but seemed helpless to stop the Hawkeyes guard as she went on to nail jumper after jumper.

“Caitlin is very skilled, she’s a great player,” Hailey offered after the game.

Kim Mulkey & LSU Returning To The Drawing Board

LSU will have to try again next year after failing to put up a successful defense of their title.

They will hope to retain Angel Reese, who remains undecided as to whether she will return or enter the NBA Draft. The forward told reporters she was unsure following last night’s loss, though she will need to make a decision by Wednesday night as the WNBA requires any player who makes it to the Elite Eight to renounce their NCAA eligibility 48 hours after their last game.

As for Morris, the 24-year-old was drafted by the Connecticut Sun last year but was waived during training camp. She is now a member of the Harlem Globetrotters.
