The Washington Commanders are set to acquire a three-time Pro Bowl tight end as they’re making their first big signing of the offseason.

Washington’s new ownership group is looking toward their first proper start to a campaign following the departure of Dan Snyder and could have a new-look offense lined up next season as they’re likely to replace Sam Howell at quarterback.

They’ve started in the receiving department as NFL NEtwork’s Tom Pelissero has reported that the NFC outfit has signed veteran TE Zach Ertz to a one-year deal worth $5 million.

Ertz, a Philadelphia Eagles legend, is set to play in the colors of their rivals next season after helping them win a Super Bowl in 2018.

As Pelissero notes, the player is heading toward a reunion with former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
