Football fans are confused over a strange occurrence regarding Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. at the 2024 NFL Combine.

At 8:33 a.m. EST, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Harrison Jr. would not be talking to media at his scheduled press conference. The 21-year-old was to speak with reporters at 8:20 a.m., per Rapoport.

Johnny Venerable of the PHNX Cardinals Podcast shared a video of an employee informing the media that Harrison Jr. wouldn’t be speaking. The employee said he had no “further updates” on the matter.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter tried adding clarity to the situation by stating that Harrison Jr. was with a medical team to get a body scan. Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk noted that in cases like this, the league will announce a new time for the absent player to speak to the media.

But Williams heard through an NFL source that the second-generation wide receiver is now “not expected to be available for interviews at the combine.”

Harrison Jr. is widely expected to be the first non-quarterback taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison caught 67 passes for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns over his final season at Ohio State.

We’ll be sure to provide more details on the matter if they become available. Whatever the reason is for his absence, here’s hoping everything is okay with Harrison.
