Alabama’s search for a new head coach is over, and Washington’s is just beginning.

Following Nick Saban’s decision to retire from coaching this week, Kalen DeBoer has replaced him in Tuscaloosa on the back of his National Championship disappointment.

The Huskies are now the ones in need of a head coach. And, according to sources, former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury is in line to take over.

Kingsbury joined USC as a senior offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach in 2023, having been fired by the Cardinals at the end of the 2022 season.

He is also thought to be the frontrunner for the Chicago Bears’ offensive coordinator job on the back of the team getting rid of nearly all offensive staff, including OC Luke Getsy, following their failure to make the playoffs.

The Bears, though, are sticking with head coach Matt Eberflus. Should they plan to draft Caleb Williams, bringing Kingsbury in would probably work out well for them given his experience working with the Trojans quarterback.

However, it’s been reported that Williams doesn’t want to play in Chicago and is waiting to see whether the team will trade its No. 1 overall pick before making a draft decision.
