On Saturday, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the Buffalo Bills-Pittsburgh Steelers Wild Card Round game (previously scheduled for 1 p.m. EST), has been postponed until Monday at 1 p.m. EST due to weather concerns.

With freezing conditions also slated for the Kansas City Chiefs-Miami Dolphins game on Saturday evening (8:00 p.m. EST), some fans were curious as to why the league didn’t reschedule that game as well. The Sunday 1:00 p.m. slot is now available, after all.

ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques spoke to a league official about the matter. The official told Louis-Jacques that the game is still on for 8:00 p.m. EST tonight since there aren’t any public-related safety concerns.

“There are no public safety travel concerns for getting to the stadium for fans, the clubs, stadium personnel or public authorities,” the official said.”

Per NFL Network’s James Palmer, the game between Kansas City and Miami is slated to be played in minus-4 to minus-7 conditions. This would mark the coldest game in both Arrowhead Stadium and Dolphins history.

With the Bills-Steelers game getting postponed, there will now be Super Wild Card Weekend doubleheaders for each of the next three days.
