Aaron Rodgers in Jets gear. pat mcafee on podcast show
Aaron Rodgers has been sacked and he hasn’t played a game since September when he ruptured his Achilles.

Aaron Rodgers will no longer appear on “The Pat McAfee Show” this NFL season as the former punter made the announcement today.

The New York Jets quarterback, a weekly guest on the show during the NFL season, has come under major scrutiny for many things he has said since being on the show but it reached a fevered pitch over the last week regarding comments he made about late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

Rodgers suggested last week that Kimmel’s name would appear on documents linking him to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Kimmel threatened to sue. ESPN called Rodgers’ words “dumb and factually inaccurate.”

McAfee said Wednesday he “would love” to move on from this situation.

“So Aaron Rodgers Tuesday Season 4 is done. Definitely gonna be a lot of people that are gonna be happy with that, myself included to be honest with you. The way it ended, it got real loud. I’m happy that that’s not gonna be in my mentions going forward. … Throughout my life there’s been a lot of people that have definitely wanted to see me not do good. … Going in we knew we’d ruffle some feathers … We’re a conversation show.”

“Aaron Rodgers is a Hall of Famer. He’s a four-time MVP. He’s a massive piece of the NFL story whenever you go back and tell it. He will be a huge part of it,” McAfee said. “We are very lucky to get a chance to chat with him and learn from him. Some of his thoughts and opinions do piss off a lot of people. I’m pumped that that is no longer every single Wednesday of my life, which it has been for the last few weeks.

“On Friday I obviously threw us into the fire as well. I forever stand by that. Everything else, though, just can’t do that and not what we want to be known for.”

Rodgers had appeared on McAfee’s show every Tuesday as part of the “Aaron Rodgers Tuesdays” segment. McAfee has confirmed that Rodgers has been paid for his recurring segment that has definitely brought in tons of viewers.

Over the last few weeks, the segment has become a national story and things have gotten too out of hand and the show really needed to get back to talking about sports and not politics.
