Cardi B’s latest release, “Like What (Freestyle),” has debuted in the top 10 on the Hоt Rap Songs Chart
Cardi B’s latest track, “Like What (Freestyle),” has catapulted her back into the top 10 of Billboard’s Hоt Rap Songs chart, debuting impressively at No. 8 on the chart dated March 16. This release under Atlantic Records not only marks the week’s highest-selling song in the rap genre but also secures the week’s most notable debut on the Billboard Hоt 100, entering at a respectable No. 38.
The debut success of “Like What (Freestyle)” on the multi-metric Hоt Rap Songs chart is largely attributed to its robust performance across various metrics, including streaming, radio airplay, and sales data. According to Luminate, the track amassed a staggering 9.8 million official streams in the tracking week spanning from March 1 to March 7. This surge in streams propels the song’s debut at No. 9 on the Rap Streaming Songs chart and at No. 28 on the broader Streaming Songs list.
Additionally, the track achieved sales of 12,000 downloads during the same period, propelling it to the summit of the Rap Digital Song Sales chart and marking Cardi B’s 11th chart-topper in that category. On the all-genre Digital Song Sales list, “Like What (Freestyle)” made an impressive debut at No. 3. Notably, the availability of the song in five different versions – explicit, clean, instrumental, sped-up, and slowed-down – contributed to its robust sales performance. Moreover, the track garnered 2 million in audience impressions for radio airplay during the tracking week.
“Like What (Freestyle)” not only marks Cardi B’s 19th top 10 Һit on the Hоt Rap Songs chart but also extends her remarkable streak to an eighth consecutive calendar year with a new top 10 entry. This impressive consistency dates back to her breakthrough appearance in 2017 with the chart-topping sensation “Bodak Yellow.” Prior to “Like What (Freestyle),” Cardi B’s last top 10 Һit was “Bongos,” a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion that peaked at No. 3.
Excitement continues to brew for Cardi B fans, as the rapper announced on Monday, March 11, that her next track, titled “Enough (Miami),” is set for release on Friday, March 15. With this promising trajectory, it’s highly likely that Cardi B will soon notch her 20th top 10 Һit on the Hоt Rap Songs chart, further solidifying her status as a dominant force in the rap industry.
