A giant blockbuster trade proposal has the Dallas Cowboys stunning the NFL by dealing superstar linebacker Micah Parsons to an archrival NFC team.

There aren’t any indicators that the Cowboys are looking to shop Micah Parsons. But the 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year is eligible for a new contract, and it’s not crazy to believe that he could hit the trade block if the two sides are far apart on extension discussions.

Philadelphia’s Sports Radio 94WIP station proposed a fascinating trade idea that has Dallas sending Parsons to the archrival Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for 2023 first-round pick Nolan Smith, the No. 22 pick in this year’s draft and a conditional 2026 third-round pick:

Last week, Shan Shariff of 105.3 The Fan in Dallas reported that Parsons “has worn thin” in Dallas and that several people in the Cowboys’ organization would be content if he left the organization.

On one hand, it’s easy to think that Jerry Jones would have zero desire to trade Micah Parsons to a division rival like the Philadelphia Eagles. But don’t forget that Dallas traded the No. 10 pick to Philly in 2021 to draft wide receiver DeVonta Smith, allowing the Cowboys to draft Parsons two picks later at No. 12 overall.

This Micah Parsons Trade Proposal Makes Sense For Both Teams

Dallas fans would hate the idea of watching Parsons dominate on a division rival, especially a club that is challenging them for Super Bowl contention in the NFC.

But this trade idea definitely works for both parties. Philly would get another five-star playmaker to strengthen an already deep front seven, while Dallas would get a promising youngster in Smith plus two early-round picks to replace Parsons.

This year’s NFL Draft is loaded with explosive pass-rushers, so the No. 22 pick would allow Dallas to find an adequate replacement for Parsons. The bottom line is that if Philadelphia offered a package like this for Parsons, Jerry and the Cowboys would have to consider it.
