Patrick and Brittany Mahomes might be the NFL’s “it couple” — and, let’s face it, as wholesome as it gets — but with great fame comes inevitable online hate. Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback often target Brittany with hate online over what they perceive to be “red flags” in their relationship.

The couple, who married in March 2022, are parents to two adorable children: a daughter named Sterling who was born in February 2021 and a son, Bronze, born in November 2022.

Brittany and Patrick are high school sweetheart whose love predates any of their fame but their relationship is often scrutinized, accused of being inauthentic and mocked online. Of course, most of this commentary is misogynistic and uncalled for but, nonetheless, lets unpack what these alleged “red flags” are — and discuss why most of them are wrong.

Brittany’s NFL Referee Callouts on Social Media
It’s no secret that Brittany, 28, is Patrick’s fiercest supporter but sometimes her passion for his sport irks fans, especially when they’re concerned it could impact his career.

She’s been known to call out referees on Twitter during her husband’s games and even once clapped back when fans raised concerns about her tweets.

“It’s not giving the org a good look,” one fan wrote. Brittany clapped back, “In the nicest way possible… Shut up.” With her support, Patrick is still at the top of his game so, hopefully, fans’ concerns are misplaced.

Britanny’s Reaction to Patrick’s Injury
Fans on TikTok called Brittany “cringey” and “ungrateful” after seeing a scene in Netflix docuseries “Quarterback.”

In it, Brittany reacts to Patrick’s injury during the playoffs in January 2023 and wasn’t the most sympathetic a person could be.

“Now I’m going to have to hear about it all week, ‘I can’t do nothing. I got to sit on the couch and recover.’ That’s what it’s going to be,” she joked with a friend.

To be fair, Brittany has likely supported Patrick through a lot of injuries so she knows the drill. She was also a new mom to their son so was no doubt doing a lot to care for their family while Patrick’s career flourished.

Patrick Once Forgot Valentine’s Day
When the NFL Twitter account shared a video of Patrick in a press conference saying that he had no idea Valentine’s Day was coming up and hadn’t made any plans for his wife yet, fans are in hysterics.

Twitter users were much kinder to Patrick than they have been to Brittany in the past, joking that his reaction was “relatable.”

Britanny’s Behavior With Fans
Social media also expressed uproar about Brittany’s reaction to Kansas City’s NFL playoff victory against Buffalo in 2022.

In celebration, Patrick’s now-wife sprayed champagne over a stadium balcony over fans below who looked a little unamused.

Critics lashed out at her online and, yet again, questioned her relationship with Patrick, but others were quick to point out that Brittany gets constant backlash for everything she does.

Cruel Assumptions About Their Family
Perhaps one of the most egregious so-called “red flag” accusations fans have levelled against the couple is accusing Brittany of being with Patrick for financial gain.

Once again, lets remember these two have been together since they were teens but that didn’t stop fans’ cruel responses to her 2020 pregnancy announcement.

“He better get a airtight prenup!” one fan wrote on Twitter while a she knew “what she was doin’.” Ahh the bitter smell of misogyny.
