With the ability to post up, shoot from the outside and create for others, Denver’s star center Nikola Jokic has all the skills necessary to unlock any defense.

It appears not every NBA fan has paid much attention to him, especially one person who has a job that requires it.

The Nuggets were able to hold on at home Tuesday night and beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 132–126, in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. Nikola Jokić led the way once again with another monster night as he finished with 34 points, 21, rebounds, and 14 assists.

Speaking with Suzy Shuster on The Rich Eisen Show, ESPN’s Lisa Salters described her shocked experience watching Jokic in the playoffs.

She admitted she was watching him for the first time.

“It’s funny, though, Suzy- like, I had never seen him play,” Salters began.

She added that it had been roughly a decade from the time she was last assigned to cover a game in Denver.
“This is really the first time I’ve had a chance to watch him play. And I’ve got to admit: I’ve been sleeping on this guy. He is spectacular. He is ridiculously good, and just unstoppable.”
That is certainly no excuse since she has a TV and access to all types of highlights on the guy at her workplace.

The two-time NBA MVP is likely to garner way more attention from the Lakers’ defense after his dominant Game 1 performance.
