Football fans are stunned to learn that former NFL star Todd Gurley is…even younger than one of the game’s longest-tenured RBs.

Gurley last played football for the Atlanta Falcons in the 2020 season, when he was 26 years of age. Gurley confirmed during the 2022 season that he was done playing professional football altogether.

As noted by Kyle Yates of Pro Football Network, the former Los Angeles Rams star is younger than Tennessee Titans standout RB Derrick Henry. The latter is still going strong at the age of 30 (his birthday is on Jan. 4), whereas Gurley won’t even turn 30 until Aug. 3.

Here’s how social media reacted to the unbelievable jaw-dropping fact:

Unfortunately, so many standout running backs of the past five years began to decline well before their 30th birthdays. This includes Gurley, Ezekiel Elliott, Devonta Freeman, Le’Veon Bell, Melvin Gordon and DeMarco Murray, among others.

Gurley was one of the NFL’s elite offensive players from 2015 to 2018, helping the Rams emerge as a powerhouse in the NFC. He won 2015 Offensive Rookie of the Year honors as well as the 2017 Offensive Player of the Year Award, having posted 2,093 total yards of offense.

Gurley also helped the Rams to a Super Bowl 53 appearance, but a knee injury unfortunately limited his workload and production.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old retired with 6,082 career rushing yards and 67 touchdowns.
