Taylor Swift has sent out ‘mixed signals’ after ditching boyfriend Travis Kelce on her 34th birthday night out in New York City after a bash attended by her pals

Taylor Swift seemingly sent out “mixed signals” after ditching her boyfriend Travis Kelce on her birthday night out during the week.

Turning 34 on December 13, the hitmaker commemorated her big day by hosting a dinner at Freemans Restaurant in New York. At the dinner was a group of the star’s pals including the likes of Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, Jack Antonoff and Zoe Kravitz. Following the dinner, Taylor and her friends headed to Manhattan nightclub The Box.

But despite there being a whole slew of famous faces in attendance for the hitmaker’s birthday celebrations, one person was noticeably absent. Taylor’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, whom she has been publicly dating since September, was nowhere to be seen, which sent out “mixed signals”, according to an expert.

Speaking to The Mirror in an exclusive chat, body language expert Judi James told us: “Taylor’s body language is sending out intriguingly mixed signals here, and it’s all down to two very potent but contrasting cues or ‘tells’.

“Firstly there’s the one raised brow. She aims this gesture at the camera, paired with a smile and the message is one of having fun. It’s a slightly naughty-looking gesture and one that acts as a tie-sign with the viewer, meaning she looks like she’s also sharing the fun with her fans.”

She then added: “But then there’s the placing of the hands in the hand clasps she uses as she walks with her posse of girls. Usually it’s Taylor in protective mode but the hand clasps here suggest it’s her girls protecting and supporting her.”

“Both the clasps in these photos, which are tight and quite emotional-looking, have the friend’s hands emphatically on top in a look of dominance and leading. The upper hand, especially one with the full back of the hand showing as Blake’s is here, suggests Taylor is getting support from her friends rather than providing it on her birthday outing. A normal fun night out-style hand clasp between girls would mean the hands being placed together straight with the back of the hand turned towards the torso,” Judi went on.

Concluding her analysis, Judi said: “Is she feeling vulnerable suddenly without Kelce or is it just the platform shoes that are making her need the extra help? Her girls look emphatic about offering the support here, whatever is prompting the signal of loyalty and protection.”
