Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has admitted he wasn’t sure he believed Travis Kelce over a claim about Taylor Swift.

For the first time, Patrick Mahomes felt disappointed with Travis Kelce for ignoring all the red signs

Mahomes starred for the Chiefs on Sunday in the 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears in the NFL. The Chiefs quarterback completed three touchdown passes and passed a total passing yards of 25,000 for his career in a record time of 83 games.

However, there was arguably as much attention on the stands at Arrowhead Stadium as there was on the field. That was because Swift was in the stands watching the Chiefs.

Swift was alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna, as the world-famous pop star cheered on the Chiefs all evening, with the tight end scoring a touchdown in the third quarter. The appearance came amid increased rumours that Swift and Kelce have begun dating, while it’s worth reiterating that neither of the duo has confirmed the relationship at this stage.

After the win over the Bears, Mahomes gave a post-game interview with Fox Sports and was asked about Swift’s appearance at Arrowhead. The quarterback admitted that he was informed that the singer would be in attendance, and explained why he tried to make sure Kelce scored a touchdown.

“Yeah, I heard she was in the house, I felt a little bit of pressure and so I knew I had to get it to Trav,” Mahomes Fox Sports.

“And of course it’s on a route that Travis does his own thing and just makes up a route and I throw it to him. I think he wanted to get in [the] endzone just as much as all the Swifties wanted him to.”

Mahomes was asked again about Kelce and Swift during his post-game press conference. The Chiefs quarterback told reporters that he wasn’t sure whether or not to believe his teammate that Swift would be at Arrowhead for Sunday’s game, and explained why he is looking forward to meeting the singer for the first time.

“He [Kelce] told me at the last minute,’ Mahomes told reporters on Sunday. “There are some things with Trav, where he kinda just says it and you don’t know if it’s true or not.

He says it so calmly: ‘Yeah, I think she’s coming to the game this weekend’. And he moved about his business.

“She’s a pop star. She’s a tremendous singer, tremendous at everything she does.

“I haven’t got to meet her, but I guess if she ends up being with Travis, I’ll probably get to meet her at some point. Seems like a good person, so hopefully I get to meet her one day.”
