Former NFL quarterback David Carr is getting torched on X following an unpopular joke about pop sensation Taylor Swift.

Swift, who took silverware home after a Grammys appearance, has been in a relationship with Travis Kelce for several months. However, Carr feels like Kelce is just lucky, claiming it’s a good thing she’s already left the country or else she would have realized she made a mistake by dating the Chiefs star.

“I’m glad Taylor Swift is out of the country,” he said on ‘NFL Total Access’ this week. “Because if she sees George Kittle, she might rethink the tight end that she chose. That’s all I’m saying.”

He didn’t have time make it to the web before his take got shut down as his colleagues quickly pointed out that the 49ers TE is happily married. But once it got there, fans let him have it.

“The Carr brothers have done irreparable damage to the game of football,” one fan quipped.

Carr is making a name for himself with these odd takes. Earlier in the season, he suggested the Eagles should bench Jalen Hurts and start Marcus Mariota.
