THE path to true love never did run smooth, and it seems even the most popular A-List celebrities have unrequited romantic feelings from time to time.

It’s especially likely on set, with Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, 32, the latest to admit to a co-star crush – on Helena Bonham Carter, now 55, who played Bellatrix Lestrange.

Reading out a note he once sent to the actress, he said: “I do love you and I wish I’d just been born 10 years earlier so I might’ve been in with a chance.”

And he wasn’t the only one who liked a fellow cast member, with actor Matthew Lewis, 32, who played Neville Longbottom, saying: “There were endless crushes, people were going out with each other, breaking up.”

Here, we take a look at the other high-profile actors who’ve admitted to having a crush on their co-stars…

Emma Watson – ‘I fell in love with Tom Felton’

It’s perhaps not surprising the number of Harry Potter stars who fell for each other considering the amount of time the main cast spent together filming all eight films.

Hermione Granger actress Emma Watson, now 31, confessed when she was 11 she had a crush on Draco Malfroy star Tom Felton, 34, who was 14 at the time.

Speaking ahead of the anniversary TV special, she said: “I just fell in love with him.

“I used to come in every day and look for his number on the call sheet, it was number seven, and if his name was on the call sheet, it was an extra exciting day.

“He was three years above me and so for him he was like, ‘you’re like my little sister’.

“Tom was the one I could be more vulnerable with. Nothing has ever happened romantically with us. We just love each other and that’s all I can say.”

Jennifer Aniston – more than Friends

Ross Gellar and Rachel Green were THE ultimate on-off nineties couple on hit TV show Friends, and their romance had millions of viewers hooked.

But it seems in real life, actors David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston also had a bit of a thing for each other at one point.

Sadly, while nothing happened, during the HBO Friends reunion, Schwimmer revealed that during the show’s debut season, he “had a major crush on Jen”.

He added: “At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary.”

Jennifer later confirmed his feelings were reciprocated, saying: “I would proudly say I banged Schwimmer if that happened. But no.”

Zac Efron – ‘Rose Byrne is wife material’

When filming Bad Neighbours in 2014, Zac Efron, now 34, was besotted with Aussie co-star Rose Byrne, 42, describing her essentially as ideal wife material.

”She’s got like a light about her you can’t teach or learn.

“It’s really kinda magical. She’s gonna redefine what you want a wife to be.”

Helen Mirren – ‘little bit in love’ with Vin Diesel

Before joining the Fast and The Furious franchise in 2017, Oscar-winning Helen Mirren, 76, admitted she was “a little bit in love” with Vin Diesel, 54 – and made an impassioned plea to join the cast.

Talking on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2015, she revealed: “I’m a huge fan of Vin Diesel.

“It came from me watching him make a speech once at some ceremony, he was just so smart and so funny and so cool and I just fell a little bit in love with him right there and then.”

When her wish came true and she starred in the film series, Helen’s crush heightened, as she revealed to Entertainment Weekly: “It was just great to be in a very small space with Vin Diesel for quite a long time.

“I just loved every minute. It was great, hearing that beautiful, soft brown velvet voice really, really close, because we were squished together.

“Oh, I just so love his voice. He’s got the best voice ever.”

Kristen Stewart’s ‘total crush’ on Amy Adams

Taking the ‘co-star’ crush a step further, Kristen Stewart, 31, and Robert Pattinson, 35, famously started dating back in 2009 after they met on the set of Twilight.

The pair were together for three years, but Rob isn’t the only co-star Kristen has admitted to taking a fancy to in the past.

When asked by W Magazine who her celeb crushes were, Kristen admitted Harrison Ford and Amy Adams, saying: “Amy Adams, man, she’s my favourite actress.

“I have a total crush on her because I got to work with her too – she’s awesome.”

Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves – secret admirers

Fans often wondered if Sandra Bullock, now 57, and Keanu Reeves, also 57, had ever dated due to their sizzling on-screen chemistry – and it seems there was a spark there.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018, Sandra revealed she’d had a crush on Reeves while they filmed Speed in 1994, but didn’t think it was mutual.

She said: “I think about how sweet Keanu Reeves is and how handsome he was.

“It was hard for me to really be serious. I never dated him. I guess there was something about me, I guess he didn’t like.”

However, just months later on the same show Keanu revealed that he had romantic feelings too, saying: “She obviously didn’t know I had a crush on her either.”

If only some of these crushes did work out, there could have been some seriously high-powered relationships!
