A Los Angeles Chargers fan may have just uncovered Jim Harbaugh’s master plan for the Los Angeles Chargers at next month’s 2024 NFL Draft.
After leading the Michigan Wolverines to a national championship, Jim Harbaugh accepted a five-year deal to take over as the new head coach of the Chargers. Harbaugh’s first NFL HC stint was with the San Francisco 49ers, lasting from 2011 to 2014.
Speaking to reporters at the NFL’s annual league meeting on Monday, Harbaugh made headlines when he said Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is “the best of any quarterback in the draft”, per ESPN’s Kris Rhim.
USC’s Caleb Williams is the consensus top QB prospect in this class, with LSU’s Jayden Daniels and North Carolina’s Drake Maye rounding out the top three.
It’s easy to accuse the Bolts head coach of simple bias with his take on McCarthy being the top QB in this class…but Chargers fan Charlie Sinclair may have exposed Jim Harbaugh’s secret master plan for the 2024 NFL Draft:
The Bears will most certainly take Williams first overall. The Washington Commanders will take a quarterback at No. 2 as well. If the New England Patriots don’t want a signal-caller at No. 3, there’s a high chance they trade that pick to a QB-needy team.
The Arizona Cardinals are the Bolts’ main road block to Marvin Harrison Jr., but GM Monti Ossenfort said last week that he’s open to dealing that pick.
So maybe, just maybe, Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers will find a way to get their hands on Marvin Harrison Jr. after all.
Jim Harbaugh & The Chargers Need To Address The WR Position
Two weeks ago, the Chargers released two-time 1,000-yard wideout Mike Williams and traded six-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears.
Justin Herbert may be a top-10 quarterback, but he might not be able to get much done with this current group of Bolts receivers.
So it’s absolutely imperative that the Chargers address the WR position at the 2024 NFL Draft. If they stay at five, they’re essentially guaranteed one of the big three receiver prospects in Harrison Jr., Washington’s Rome Odunze and LSU’s Malik Nabers.
