During the third quarter, the Clippers led the Trail Blazers 81-60.

Harden passed the ball to fellow Los Angeles superstar Kawhi Leonard, who was open in the corner.

However, Leonard attempted the three-pointer while Harden also jumping out to contest the shot.

The two-time NBA champion Leonard ended up missing the look.

While the Clippers still went on to win the game, NBA fans were still ranting and raving over Harden seemingly attempting to a block a shot that he had created.

One commented, “Bro, c’mon James.”

Another wrote, “Most defense he’s played this year.”

While a third stated, “Harden’s already in playoff form.”

After the game, Harden explained his thought process on the out-of-the-ordinary play.

“I was trying to bring some excitement to this team,” the 2018 MVP said, per Sports Illustrated.

“I think these last few weeks have been a fog for us.

“I think every team goes through it.

“So I think it was just me trying to create energy, create a great vibe for this team.

“Maybe it would’ve been better if he had made the shot, but give them something to laugh about, some excitement.”

Entering Wednesday, the Clippers had a 8-10 record in their last 18 games.

They have the No. 4 seed and already fives games back of the No. 1 seed which belongs currently to the 48-20 Oklahoma City Thunder.
