LeBron isn’t the only NBA icon to have a bizarre pregame ritual

LEBRON James is very particular about the placement of his gear before the game, his ex-Miami Heat teammate Mario Chalmers has revealed.

The former Heat point guard revealed LeBron’s bizarre ritual in a new series on the four-time NBA champion.

Chalmers, 37, opened up about what it was like to share the locker room with James, 39, alongside in Playmaker’s show Teammates.

He dove into LeBron stories together with Heat center Thomas Bryant and ex-NBA point guard Carlos Arroyo.

As they discussed the 20-time All-Star’s superstitions, Chalmers asked Bryant — who won the 2020 NBA Finals with James and the Los Angeles Lakers — whether he still lays his jersey out on the floor.

The Heat center chuckled and gave an affirmative answer.

“That man will lay his whole outfit all over the floor for the game and make sure everybody walks around it,” Chalmers explained.

“One time the media walked over the jersey, he snapped.

“He made equipment man go get him a whole new jersey, shorts, tights, headband, armband, socks and laid it right back out.

“You better walk all the way around like it’s a chalk outline.”

Bryant added James also has his seat at the gym that no one else is allowed to take.

LeBron is not the only NBA star known to have a rather odd pregame ritual.

Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal recently revealed he stayed up until late to make sure he was in peak form on the court in the upcoming game.

“That was my thing, stay out all night, right? Shaq said on his podcast recently.

“Like just 4:00 [am]. Get up at 10:00 [am]. Go to shootaround, mess around, come back.

“Two turkey clubs, fries and a pineapple soda, and then I’ll sleep the four hours.”

O’Neal added: “That’s what I need before the game.

“Like if I get that three hours [of sleep] before the game, no matter what I did the night before, I’m killing somebody.”
