Could this be the end of LeBron James in Los Angeles?
After a crushing Game 4 loss to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, James had a cryptic message for the media when he said he had “a lot to think about” this offseason.
Chris Haynes reported that James may not be with the team to start the season next year.
But The Post’s Brian Lewis believes that James is doing this as a negotiation tactic to get the Lakers to improve their roster this offseason.
The speculation will continue to run rampant as the offseason nears and free agency begins.
Oddsmakers at PointsBet Sportsbook have made their opinions known, projecting odds that agree with Lewis.
The Lakers are a -700 (87.50 percent implied) favorite to return to retain their future Hall-of-Fame forward.
But there are some other options worth discussing in this betting market.
Limits will be extremely low as it’s really a measuring stick for bettors and fans of probability.
But regardless, these are real odds that can be bet on PointsBet Sportsbook; all odds are accurate at the time of publication.

LeBron James to retire +500
(16.67 percent implied)
We all know James has been dealing with a foot injury that forced him to miss several weeks during the regular season and may require off-season surgery.
Retirement could help James recover faster using alternative medical procedures to recover quicker.
“I can’t say too much, but German doctors are great. That’s all I’m saying,” his teammate Dennis Schroder said during the season as James pushed to play through the foot injury.
James could always make a return in the 2024-25, too, after a year of rest.
‘For the Knicks… Maybe Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett makes sense. I wouldn’t do that if I were the Lakers.’

New York Knicks +1500
(6.25 percent implied)
Ah, the Knicks. Could it really be? Albeit, 13 years too late.
Color me a skeptic on this one.
This only makes sense if the Knicks move Julius Randle and other pieces, likely RJ Barrett, in a trade to get The King back in a deal.
This doesn’t appear too likely, though, as James just signed a two-year extension with the Lakers.
James should’ve been a Knick years ago, but he doesn’t fit the current team’s timeline whatsoever.

Golden State Warriors +1500
(6.25 percent implied)
This is the one that actually makes sense.
James has said on the record in the past that the player he’d want to play with the most is none other than Stephen Curry.
Curry is his ultimate rival, but they have recently become friendly and talked about pairing in the past.
The brief flirting between the two happened in 2021 as Curry prepared for free agency after the 2022 season.
He never made it to free agency, thanks to a massive extension from Golden State, but this is an interesting what-if in basketball.
A potential trade for James would make at least some sense for both parties.
Sending Andrew Wiggins, Jonahan Kuminga and Jordan Poole and perhaps draft capital to Los Angeles for James.
The contracts work, and James gets what he always needed dating back to his time in Cleveland and Miami – a guard that can do the bulk of the scoring.
Dallas Mavericks +2000
James wants to be a secondary offensive option? Say no more.
Luka Doncic is the next big thing in the NBA and perhaps the most gifted scorer of the basketball we have seen in ages.
This duo would fit together like a glove and they could even keep James’ old pal Kyrie Irving as an added bonus.
The trio of James-Doncic-Irving would be one heck of a tandem that surely would be favorites to come out of the Western Conference for the remaining years of James’ career.
Mark Cuban would be happy with this outcome.
