The Philadelphia Eagles went from Miles Sanders to De’Andre Swift to now Saquon Barkley after signing the former New York Giants running back this offseason. Saquon Barkley left the New York Giants for the Philadelphia Eagles, signing a three-year, $37.75 million deal last week.
Philadelphia Eagles fans as well as other fans of Saquon Barkley are excited about his new start with a much better team and many of them wasted no time trying to get their hands on his new threads with a new team. However, there is a huge problem.
Fanatics released Saquon Barkley Eagles merchandise, including jerseys and t-shirts, available for pre-order starting last Wednesday. The Midnight Green jersey was available for $129.99 and three t-shirts in black, Midnight Green, and Kelly Green available for $39.99 each.
A bunch of fans quickly took to Fanatics to pre-order their Saquon jerseys in time for the 2024 season to begin. That is a great decision but it appears it is not going to get to them in time. In fact, many fans took to social media to post their shipment is not expected to get to them until deep into the NFL season in October.
Fanatics website states that the items “Will Be Shipped Separately 2-4 Weeks After The Player’s Number Is Officially Confirmed. Confirmation Will Take Place No Later Than The Start Of This Year’s NFL Regular Season”.
October 8th of the 2023 season had the Eagles already playing in five games.
Many fans took to the comment section and exploded on Fanatics:
Saquon Barkley Finally Has Chance To Showcase Talents On Super Bowl Contender After Eagles Deal
It was announced that Saquon Barkley would sign a three-year deal for a $37.75 million contract that could increase to $46.75 million with $26 million fully guaranteed at signing. His maximum average-per-year salary, $15.833 million, is the second highest for a running back in NFL history, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The former Nittany Lion running back was the top offensive player for the Giants with 962 rushing yards and six touchdowns last year, according to ESPN.com and now he can do that and possibly more as he gets to showcase his talents for the Super Bowl contending Philadelphia Eagles.
Defenses already had to account for Jalen Hurts and how dangerous his legs are, but now the team has another threat in the backfield with Saquon Barkley who can turn any play into a huge one. If Saquon can stay healthy, the sky is the limit for him and the team in 2024.
