Football fans love hearing expert predictions for any given NFL season, but NFL Network and FOX Sports analyst Peter Schrager is especially worth listening to whenever he locks in his Super Bowl pick.

In case you didn’t know, Schrager has correctly predicted each of the last five Super Bowl champions at the start of the season: The Kansas City Chiefs in 2019, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and the Chiefs again in 2022 and 2023.

Sure, the Chiefs were a prime favorite in the 2019, 2022 and 2023 seasons. But not many thought the Bucs would actually win it all at the start of 2020, and the Rams were outside the top-five betting favorites to open 2021.

An image from February has resurfaced of the “Good Morning Football” crew listing which top five teams (in order) are most likely to win Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans next year. Schrager and his three colleagues each had the Chiefs at the top:

Kansas City Chiefs Aim For First Super Bowl Three-Peat

No team in NFL history has accomplished a Super Bowl three-peat, though several teams have gotten close-ish to doing so.

The San Francisco 49ers almost made history back in 1990. That year, they lost the NFC Championship Game to the rival New York Giants on a last-second field goal, ending the 49ers’ bid for a third straight Super Bowl berth. The Dallas Cowboys reached the 1994 NFC Championship Game after winning consecutive Super Bowls, but they were bounced by the 49ers in that game. Dallas went on to win their fifth Lombardi Trophy in the ensuing season.

The Chiefs have loaded up on playmakers in an effort to win Super Bowl 59, having added Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy to their prolific offense.
