The Pat McAfee Show aired on its usual 12 pm ET time on Thursday.
During the program, McAfee announced that former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins missed his TV appearance.
“We thought for sure Kendrick Perkins was gonna be there today,” he said.
The former NFL punter-turned sports media personality added that Perkins “thought we were starting next week” and called the situation “classic miscommunication.”
Perkins’ absence comes after McAfee revealed on his hit show on Tuesday that he would be joining the cast in the studio each work for a recurring role.
“On Thursday, right here in the ThunderDome, will be Big Perk,” he said.
“And not just this Thursday. Each Thursday for the foreseeable future.
“We can’t wait! We can’t wait for you to be in here.”
Perkins, who was remote while on the TV show, had a fiery response to his ESPN colleague.
“I’m so f**king happy to be part of the Pat McAfee Show. To be part of the family,” he replied.
“I only got one request – have me standing across from you. Give me a tank top, and a microphone.”
Perkins retired from the NBA in 2018.
During his tenure, the 6-foot-10 center won a title with the Boston Celtics.
Since retiring from basketball, Perkins has been a contributor to ESPN.
