WHEEL of Fortune co-hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White have rallied behind a contestant who came exceptionally close to an extra $40,000.

On Tuesday night, mom-of-one Laquisha faced the game show’s bonus puzzle with a high score of $23,000 and high hopes.

She chose “MGWA” as her additional letters, and the tricky four-word puzzle read as a mere, “_’ ‘_A_E’ ‘_ _ _R’ ‘_ _ _ _’

Impressively, she got the first three words, exclaiming, ‘I have your…I have your case?’

But poor Laquisha could not finish the Wheel of Fortune puzzle correctly, and the 10-second timer ran out.

The puzzle was revealed as “I Have Your Back,” and Laquisha uttered, ‘Oh God.”

“Oh my gosh,” she exclaimed once more as she stood alongside Pat, 77, adding, “And I love to say that phrase!”

Pat didn’t go for the chummy approach; instead, he said he felt “sorry” for her.

“You did everything you could. You had the right idea, and you did everything you could,” he said, looking genuinely unhappy.

“You were trying other words. The 10 seconds just flies by. I’m sorry it didn’t work out.”

Pat revealed she lost an extra $40,000 per the prize card and added, “It was a nice effort, it really was.”

TOUGH WEEK!

On Monday night, tattoo artist Cairo also aced the first three words of the four-letter puzzle before drawing a very costly blank.

He chose “Phrase” as the category for his bonus puzzle and the additional letters of “HGMA.”

Once he was done picking, the four-word challenge read as “THE_ HAV_ _’ ‘G_ _ _’ ‘ _ _ A L_T_ES.”

Cairo instantly knew “They have good-” repeating it multiple times.

But he could not get to the last word and the 10-second timer ran out.

The full puzzle was displayed as “They Have Good Qualities,” and Cairo kept his composure with a smile.

Cairo’s expression changed when Pat revealed he missed out on $100,000, the highest amount on the wheel without a $1million wedge.

Cairo looked shocked as he glanced at the giant prize pot, and whispered, “Wow.”

The audience gasped and Pat winced, “How do you think I feel!?”
