Like most NFL fans and players who were stunned by the news of Aaron Rodgers’s injury, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes wanted to send the legendary quarterback some love.

Patrick Mahomes sends a brutal message to Aaron Rodgers

Mahomes first tweeted out: “Hate that man…. Praying for the best.”

Now if you read the tweet, you know what he meant, but some people read it differently.

Some fans read the tweet the wrong way, and Mahomes had to come back later and correct himself with a comma.

“Knew I was going to need that edit button on here one of these days,” the reigning Super Bowl MVP tweeted, followed by a laughing emoji.

Anyone who knows Mahomes and his character knows he is one of the good guys in the sport and didn’t mean any harm by that. Like the rest of the football world, we all saw Rodgers go down in the fourth play of the Jets game versus the Buffalo Bills Monday night.

It was later reported that Rodgers would be out the rest of the season because of an Achilles injury, which may kill the New York Jets playoff hopes.

With Rodgers at quarterback, the Jets were contenders in the AFC. But with him gone for the season, who knows? The road to the Super Bowl was going to be rough in the first place and just got rockier.
