Josh Allen has hinted that he might be keen on a trade given some curious activity on social media.

The Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker had a breakout season in 2023 and was franchise-tagged by the team ahead of last month’s deadline, with the Jags unwilling to let him test free agency.

Allen’s tag is set at $24.007 million, which is the second most expensive position to tag after quarterbacks, but the team will likely have no qualms about using it as it buys them time to work out a long-term deal with a player who has attracted multiple suitors.

“We were not able to reach an agreement on a contract extension with Josh before today’s deadline, and thus, we have tagged him,” Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke said, per NFL.com. “We certainly value Josh’s leadership on the field, in the locker room and in the community. Our objective to keep Josh in Jacksonville in the coming years remains unchanged and negotiations will continue.“

Allen recently liked a tweet from a Jaguars fan criticizing the team’s laid-back approach when compared to the Houston Texans. The Texans have made some bold moves this offseason as they look to build on the progress they made in 2023 under first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans, and it appears their moves have prompted envy around the league.

The Other Josh Allen Might Want A Trade Too

One of those Texans moves involves former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is set to suit up for Houston in 2024.

Diggs was Josh Allen’s favorite target in Buffalo but the team traded the wide receiver and kept it a secret from him, which could potentially lead to some bad blood.

Of course, the Bills must be planning on signing replacements for their QB, but he might not be so hot on them after being kept in the dark on such a significant move.
