Queen Elizabeth II  – the longest reigning person in British history – has broken a number of records in the history of her reign.

Queen Elizabeth II hasn’t just been on the throne the longest – she’s also sent the most letters, met the most prime ministers and had the longest marriage, according to Sky News.

500 million – The number of viewers watching the Queen’s silver jubilee on television in 1977.

50 million – UK population when Queen Elizabeth ascended the throne in 1952 – currently around 67.1 million.
