Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever jersey is reportedly selling at a much faster pace than one of the world’s most popular and marketed sports teams.

The 2024 WNBA Draft was held on Monday in Brooklyn, New York. As everyone expected, the Fever used the first overall pick on Iowa star Caitlin Clark, the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division 1 history.

According to Dick Weiss of the New York Daily News, Clark’s Indiana Fever jersey needed just one day to outsell the amount of Dallas Cowboys jerseys that were sold last year.

So yes, the Caitlin Clark effect on the WNBA is astronomical. The fact she needed only one day to outsell the jerseys of perhaps the most popular sports team in America? That feat is absolutely incredible.

Not to mention that the WNBA also announced earlier this month that 36 of Indiana’s 40 games will be nationally broadcast.

For what it’s worth, Dallas star linebacker Micah Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott ranked first and fifth in top-selling jerseys at the Lids company for 2023, respectively.

Caitlin Clark Will Change Everything For Indiana

The Fever were a model of consistency from 2005 to 2016, making the postseason every year during that span. They went to the WNBA Finals three times and won the championship in the 2012 season.

But Indiana hasn’t qualified for the postseason since 2016, and they last won a playoff series in 2015. And since 2017, the organization hasn’t topped 13 wins in a single season (they hit that mark in 2019 and 2023).

However, things are about to change with Caitlin Clark joining the organization. She’s a generational talent who can single-handedly take over games while also making her teammates that much better.

The Clark era will begin on May 14, when the Fever begin their season on the road against the Connecticut Sun. Two days later, Indiana will welcome the New York Liberty in their home opener.
