Where will Saquon Barkley end up? That is a question that might get answered this week.

Barkley, a two-time Pro Bowl running back, will be one of the more intriguing names on this year’s market as his name has already been matched with several teams.

A new report from The Athletic says the Chicago Bears will heavily pursue Barkley so they can pair him with Caleb Williams, who they will select as the number one pick in the draft.
“They will probably spend more money than they probably would want to.”

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, the Bears are considered to be “serious suitors” for Barkley’s services.

“The Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears are believed to be serious suitors. The rival Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have interest, but aren’t expected to reach Barkley’s price point. Still, they shouldn’t be completely counted out because they are, at the very least, involved.”

Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com also spoke with more than a dozen managers, executives, coaches, scouts, and agents, and many think Barkley would land a contract worth $10M per year, with a three-year, $30M pact.

Barkley is a player who can be a game-changer in the backfield. He is coming off a season where he racked up 962 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games. He also added 41 receptions for 280 yards and four touchdowns.

The biggest hurdle is having him stay healthy which has been a problem throughout his career. If he is used differently, he could be a safety blanket for the rookie quarterback coming in.
