The latest news from the Clippers camp concerns Mr. Triple Double, Russell Westbrook. It has been reported that Westbrook has been injured and will be sidelined indefinitely for now. It is not very positive news for the Clippers as they enter mid-season.

Westbrook is a veteran of the game and injuries don’t mean much to him. But a fracture will keep him out for some time for sure. However, he doesn’t have to worry much as the Clippers are currently stacked with superstars who can manage in his absence.

Russell Westbrook injury update

It is reported that Russell Westbrook has suffered a fracture in his left hand. He sustained the injury in the game against the Washington Wizards. Russell tried to steal the ball from Jordan Poole in the first half of the game and that confrontation led to the injury. There has been no announcement from the Clippers about the return of Mr. Triple Double. A fracture keeps a player out for four to six weeks, so we can expect him to be out of action for at least a few weeks.

Head coach Tyronn Lue shared his thoughts on the injury to Westbrook. “You never wish to see a player get hurt. Poole drove around and he (Russell Westbrook) tried to deflect it from the back. I think he hit Poole’s elbow with his hand, so we do not know what the timetable is. Do not know if he would need surgery or anything yet, but he is out for now. So we are just trying to figure it out,” said Lue. Russell has played in all 58 games this season and has been a key player in Lue’s tactics. His absence means the Clippers coach will now need to adjust his strategies a little.

Clipper vs Wizards match review

Russell Westbrook may have exited the game early but the Clippers were able to pull through and secure a win against the Wizards on Friday night. The Clippers were dubbed the scariest team in the West by Charles Barkley but were struggling to live up to that reputation after the All-Star break. They had lost three of their four games since the break and needed a victory to lighten things up. Luckily, their matchup against the Wizards, who are currently the worst team in the NBA, provided that.

The return of PG-13 was felt on the court as he scored 22 points, collected six rebounds, and provided three assists in 30 minutes. However, the duo of Kawhi Leonard and James Harden was the one that stole the show. Harden scored 28 points while netting six three-pointers. He also collected four rebounds and had eight assists.

As for the Klaw, it was a regular night where he scored 27 points, collected nine rebounds, and provided four assists. The Clippers have a chance at winning the championship this time and Shaquille O’Neal also agrees with it. He recently stated that the Clippers can win it all if Paul George and Harden don’t disappoint.
