Taylor Swift is one of the most successful singers on the globe. Her Eras tour has broken records and has already made billions in profits, pushing the pop star’s net worth over $1 billion.

Though her parents Scott and Andrea Swift are regularly seen supporting her in public, such as at awards shows and her concerts (and even Travis Kelce’s NFL games), there was a time her dad was skeptical of her music career or at least frustrated by it.

The Swift family is currently being sued by Taylor’s former manager Daniel Dymtrow. He started managing her when she was 13 with a deal that was supposed to last two and a half years. However, Dymtrow claims he was paid less for his work than was initially agreed upon, leading him to launch a case in hopes of financial compensation.

The lawsuit is currently being heard in court and part of the evidence submitted includes old emails sent by Scott Swift in which he makes a series of harsh comments about his family, including Taylor. The emails were apparently sent when she was first launching her career; Scott is seemingly frustrated by the amount of money and resources the family was fueling into launching her music.

In one email Scott allegedly sent to Daniel, he wrote, “Bear with me, I need to vent. I know one thing. No-one is going to aid you and Taylor in becoming successful more than I will.”

While Scott expressed a desire to see his daughter make it big in the entertainment industry, he expressed frustration at how much money he was spending whilst not being able to accompany his daughter on every big opportunity.

“I am your banker and I am you and Taylor’s biggest fans. I will sell a s*** load of t-shirts,” Scott wrote, before later writing, “Who gets to go to New York, New England and every cool appearance? Not dad. Can’t fix hair. Dad talks too much. Who pays for trips to New York? Dad.”
He then added, “I am going to do anything that I think is appropriate to advance Taylor’s career.”
Elsewhere, Scott seemed to make a slight dig at his wife Andrea, telling the manager to speak to her if he doesn’t want to deal with him directly. “Finally, if you want to get rid of me, please forward this to Andrea.”

As The Mirror points out, many fan were shocked by Scott’s comments, arguing not only did they seem unsupportive but also sexist and money-driven. “The way he talks about Taylor like she’s a business, tells me everything I need to know,” one person wrote on Reddit.

“The way that Scott talked about Andrea in that email is horrific…. he is a misogynist through and through,” a different comment said.

For now, the Swift family hasn’t directly responded to the alleged emails.
