Tekashi 6ix9ine has reportedly refused to hire more security despite being beaten to a pulp in a recent ambush.

The artist was jumped by a group of men as he tried to leave a fitness club in Florida five years after breaking rank to testify against gangmates and Cardi B.

However according to TMZ the rapper, 26, has no plans of leaving the area despite being threatened by his attackers.

Tekashi, real name Daniel Hernandez, is also said to be planning on continuing to go out alone as he refuses to let ‘one incident’ change the way he lives.

A source told the publication: ‘He’s actually been going out in public without his hired muscle pretty regularly over the last year — without issue’.

‘We’re told he’s not about to let one incident change the way he lives. He wants to continue to live as normal a life as possible… and is chalking up the gym beatdown as an outlier’.

It comes after the quick-thinking gym staff at LA fitness were able to prevent any further harm coming to the star by locking him in another room, TMZ reports.

Sources told the site that the attack will have come as a shock to the rapper and staff as Tekashi was a regular at the Florida LA Fitness.

While he’s been recognised in the past he’s said to have been happy to pose for snaps with fans and has never had any problems with the other patrons.

It comes after shocking new video emerged showing the minutes just before a group of men ambushed Tekashi on Tuesday.

Gym surveillance footage obtained by TMZ shows the men may have had a plan in place to attack the rapper – as one is seen letting the other into the facility just before the beating.

Footage of the attack itself was posted online late Tuesday evening and shows the jump on the rapper who was seen bloody and blue with severe injuries.

The footage of the attack itself shows Tekashi 6ix9ine being beaten ‘to a pulp’ last night and humiliated in front of other gymgoers at the LA Fitness.

The group of men who beat him later boasted about the attack on social media.

On Wednesday, TMZ reported that the rapper was taken to the hospital from injuries to his face, back, ribs and jaw.

According to the outlet, he’s still receiving treatment in the hospital.

The exact reasoning for the attack remains unknown at this time.

It’s unclear what prompted the attack but Tekashi is not short of enemies; in 2018, he was labeled a ‘snitch’ after testifying for prosecutors against the likes of the Bloods gang and Cardi B.

The rapper cut a deal to lessen his own sentence after being charged with an array of crimes, and spent just two years behind bars.

Tekashi had faced a 47-year minimum sentence and maximum of life in prison when he was arrested back in 2018 on charges including racketeering, firearm possession, armed robbery and attempted murder.

It was part of a widespread crackdown on gangs in New York, during which nine members of the same gang were taken into custody.

He quickly abandoned his co-defendants, cutting a deal with the prosecution instead and agreeing to be their star witness.

In court, he took the stand to describe the inner workings of the gang and his own ascent through it.

Among those who were incriminated by Tekashi at the trial was rapper Cardi B. She was not charged

‘We participated in a lot of crimes. Robberies, assaults, drugs,’ he said.

As a result, Anthony Ellison – one of his co-defendants – was sentenced to 24 years in prison.

Tekashi was sentenced to two years in prison in December 2019.

By then, he had already completed 13 months.

He was released early in April 2020 and allowed to serve the remainder of his term on house arrest.

He had pleaded with corrections officials to be released, saying he was afraid of contracting COVID behind bars.

Since then, he has done little keep a low profile.

He continues to boast about money and women on social media, where he has more than 24million followers, and is still making music.
