Damian Lillard set an NBA record on Sunday night, posting an incredible 71 points in 39 minutes.

The Trail Blazers star became the first player in league history to score 70-plus points, have five-plus rebounds and assists and 10-plus three-pointers made in a single game.

In his career, Lillard has now eclipsed the 60-point mark five times, tying him with Michael Jordan for the third-most times scoring 60, behind Kobe Bryant (8) and Wilt Chamberlain (32).

Chamberlain famously holds the NBA’s single-game scoring mark with an unbelievable 100-point effort on Mar. 2, 1962. The Hall of Famer — a 13-time All Star, two-time NBA champ, and seven-time scoring champ — led the Philadelphia Warriors to victory over the Knicks in a game played in Hershey, PA. He hit 36 field goals and 28 free throws, which are also single-game records.

Bryant came the closest, racking up 81 points for the Lakers against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 22, 2006. He scored 28 field goals, 18 free throws, and seven three pointers.

In the current era, only three active players have reached 70 points in a game: the Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker (70), Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell (71), and, now, Lillard.

Only Jordan’s 63 point-effort in 1986 against the Celtics in a 2OT loss and Elgin Baylor’s 61 against Boston in a 1962 win came in the playoffs.
