Gisele Bundchen is opening up like never before in an effort that it will help somebody who is going through the same issues as her.
During a sit-down interview on ‘The View,’ Gisele Bundchen opened up about her severe depression and panic attacks that she use to suffer from.
The former wife of Tom Brady went on The View and told the hosts that changing her diet played a key role in helping her recover from the “severe depression and panic attacks” she experienced in her 20s.
Bündchen, who is currently promoting a cookbook called Nourish, claimed that her lifestyle choices were the main factors that contributed to her poor mental health.
“I had no idea it was correlated with my lifestyle, and food was a big part of it,” she recalled. “I wasn’t really paying attention. I was just going 100 miles an hour, she added via Pagesix.com.”
After a year and a half of “going through all the specialists” and having “one of the worst times of [her] life,” Bündchen “didn’t know what to do” and started seeing a naturopathic doctor.
“He said to me, ‘Gisele, we have to change your diet,’” she remembered. “And I was like, ‘Diet? What does that have to do with panic attacks?’ And he’s like, ‘No, it has everything to do with it.’”
Gisele Bundchen said she was drinking coffee, smoking, and “eating terrible all day” during that time and quickly realized her lifestyle choices were “destroying [her] health and creating the condition [she] was in.”
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel became a “different person” when she stopped “eating terrible.”
“Everything changed,” she gushed. “I became a different person. I started practicing meditation. I started practicing yoga. I started practicing breath work. It was a long journey.”
She noted, “Food, for me, is medicine.”
Tom Brady And Gisele Bundchen Divorced After 13 Years of Marriage
Back in October 2022, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen announced they were divorcing after 13 years of marriage over his decision to “un-retire” from the NFL earlier that year.
The former couple share two kids together.
At the time, Brady said he and Bündchen “arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together”. He added that their children were their priority and that they planned to “work together as parents” to “ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
Since then, Gisele Bundchen and her Jiu-Jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente have been said to be dating since June 2023.
