The Dallas Cowboys were supposed to take care of business against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. It was supposed to be their year. Dak Prescott and company were the favorites to win the game and make a deep playoff run. The Packers, though, seemed like they came out of the syllabus for Dallas as they ran circles around the Mike McCarthy-led side.
The game started with the Packers scoring on their first drive. It was a fantastic opening drive that ended in a Aaron Jones touchdown. The tone was set. Green Bay scored another touchdown in the first quarter, then another, then another, and eventually won the game, 48-32. The game was over halfway through the third quarter as the Cowboys were down by 25 points.
Their fans had enough of their team during the third quarter and started to leave the AT&T Stadium. It was an embarrassing effort from the Cowboys as they yet again failed to make any noise in the playoffs.
Prescott had yet another stinker in the playoffs as he threw a back-breaking pick-6 in the second quarter to give the Packers a 27-0 lead. That essentially ended the game for Dallas as they never recovered from that.
The Packers, with Jordan Love under center, have now advanced to the Divisional Round in the QB’s first season as a starter. They will now play the number one seed in the conference, the San Francisco 49ers in the next round.
Dallas Cowboys fail to get going in the Wild Card game against the Packers
The Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers game was supposed to be a blowout in favor of the Cowboys. However, it turned out to be the exact opposite as the Packers did a job on their opponents to win the game 48-32. It was a matchup that was dominated by the visiting Packers who embarrassed Dallas on almost every first-half drive.

The Cowboys’ big guns disappeared during the game and were nowhere to be found. Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb were not on the same page in the first half and that affected the rhythm of their offense. This was Prescott’s worst game of the season as he threw two interceptions in the first half, the second was returned for a 64-yard touchdown.
It was yet another promising year that ended in disappointment for the Cowboys. Mike McCarthy, the Cowboys’ HC, was already under pressure coming into the game. However, after a dismal performance in the playoffs, McCarthy’s future in Dallas will be in jeopardy.
